Online Shopping

I know the disadvantages of small companies doing online shopping but I can`t seem to find any disadvantages for a large organisation e.g. Wal-mart,Tesco etc.

Maybe customers worried about security? but thats all I can think of.

In addition, the question is disadvantages for the COMPANY not customers.

When shoping online you don’t always know exactly what you’re getting. There will also be a much more limited warenty so if you don’t get what you want, you can’t do much about it.

   Some of them are fraud which happens sometimes. Another one is convinience and online shopping can be a lot of stress because of the time which it takes to ship the items.

   That there is no opportunity for point of sale promotion, if people hop online they will have a list and purchase what they need if they go to the store they have to walk through it and will be tempted to impulse buy.

   Also online shopping gives small stores the opportunity to market themselves worldwide wihich could lead to increased competiton to large businessess.

   having to employ staff to pick the stuff for the order………..i was a picker for tesco, and it was horrible!!
