i’m starting a new shop and when i google the name of the business currently in the premises, i get loads of links up. like yell.com and review sites. how do i register my business on theses sites? do i have to go to every single site and inform them, about my new business in the premises or is there a way to get register es automatically?

Yes you have to register with each one individually. Making a business successful takes actual effort and work.

I want to set up an etsy shop and website to sell my artwork.

The name I want to use for the shop is already being used by some business in Wales. I have no idea what type of business it is, but it must be very small because they seem to have no website of their own – I just found just one reference to them on an online business directory.

What do you think? Would it be stupid for me to go ahead and use the name? Or OK since they don’t do business online and seem to be a small operation? I’m hanging on to hope here (took me forever to find a name I liked)….
Would the fact that I’m in a different country make a difference?

Previous answers are rubbish – there is no need to "register" any business name.

If you are a limited company the company must be registered and the company name must be different from all other company names. For this reason the official name of a lot of companies can be quite random. There are also some other restrictions such as the name not being misleading or offensive.

If a limited company chooses to trade under a different name to their official name, or if a self employed person chooses to trade under a name other than their actual name, then they must choose a "business name". There is no requirement to register the name, but there are similar restriction to company names.

There is no specific restriction on using a business name that is the same as another business name. However, you do need to be aware of trade marks or passing off. The requirements for both a similar – if another business that operates in a similar field to you and operates in a similar geographic region to you has a similar name then you might be guilty of passing yourself off as them – ie consumers might assume you are the same business.

So if the business in Wales is not selling artwork there can be no confusion and you are OK. If you don’t operate in Wales there can be no confusion and you are OK. This is a judgement call that you have to make. But don’t abandon your chosen name just because you have a suspicion that another business in another part of the country has the same name.

Ok, basically I went bankrupt in October 2008.

I went shopping for my daughters clothes on the weekend, but they didnt have some stuff I wanted, so today I went online to the Next website to order them. It asked me if I wanted a Next Directory, which i said No to, then got through to the checkout and clicked confirm on my order and the next page was thanking me for my order, and telling me that i have £200 credit.

I’m really scared now, what should I do as I was going to pay by card online for the entire order. Do I need to tell the receivers, or will they get notified? I dont know whats going to happen?

I really need an answer from someone who knows what they are talking about?

You can apply for credit of up to £500 without informing the creditor that you are bankrupt.

It is nothing to do with the OR – you should note that any debt you incurr after your bankruptcy is your problem and cannot be included in the bankruptcy.

Try Forever 21, Pacsun, American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister, and Claire’s. Idk if your mall has all these but you can check them out online and then find them in a mall/store near you. For Preppy/Girly try polos and khakis + nice jeans.

I’m trying to get my hands on a particular wine: Black Swan merlot 2005. It’s not a super-spectacular wine, but is special in that it was the wine my girlfriend and I drank on our first date and I want to surprise her on our anniversary with a bottle or two of it.

The problem I’m running into is that I’ve been able to find it on a few wine shopping websites, but no one will ship to Maryland, where I live, due to state laws. Besides burdening a friend from another state to receive it (they have to be home and present an ID to ensure over 21) or calling/visiting every wine store in the area and asking if they have it, what can I do? Is there some sort of online wine directory where I can find the nearest store that has it on their shelves?
