would you go online to do your shopping rather than going to a grocery store?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

I am doing some marketing research, and have become curious how popular online shopping is becoming. Do you shop online? or go to a store? And why do you do it that way? would anything change your mind and convince you to shop the other way?

I haven’t done grocery shopping online yet, was just investigating Alice.com the other day, their prices are fair. If the shipping is free, I might consider it. For me the question is sort of moot though, as I am a sales rep in food stores all day long !!! so usually just pick up whatever I need each day. I can say this though, if I was a mom with little kids, yes I would grocery shop online, one less trip with screaming kids !! LOL

I think some cons would be if something isn’t your size, it will be a pain in the ass to return/exchange it.

Can u guys gimme some pros and cons of online shopping?

Cons
Fake websites
Bad return policies
Online retailers that do not disclose that they sell fakes of factory variants.
Identity theft
Lost orders
Shipping in general (I hate $9 shipping charges)
Lack of photos or video of the garment in question.
Coupon codes that exclude everything (Macy’s)
Poor description of products
No side by side comparisons of products.
Poor customer service
Wrong product in the box
It may be tan on your screen but it will arrive and the color is dark camel.

Pros
The world is your mall you do no have to settle for whats available at your local retailer.

How do I persuade my dad online shopping is beneficial?

Posted on February 6th, 2010 by admin

He is concerned with the safety of his financial details when shopping. What safe ways are there of shopping online?

Shop with retailers that he is familiar with. Perhaps start with ordering a pizza online. haha. Seriously. When he sees that works maybe he’ll soften up to the idea.
Maybe you should order something small online, such as a dvd. Have him there to watch you do it. When it arrives he’ll probably be amazed. Hopefully he’ll realize how convenient it is and change his tune.
By the way, online shopping is a lifesaver!
Good luck!

Is it safe to go online shopping with Google Chrome?

Posted on January 28th, 2010 by admin

Normally do I log into my personal accounts that has to do with money and shopping using previous browsers like Sea Monkey, and Opera. Now I am using Google Chrome, and I wonder if it would be safe to use it for online shopping such as, and entering in sensetive information over the net even with SSL encryption security.

I just wanted an answer for anyone else before I give it a go.

Its as safe as any other browser. Probably safer then IE.

Edit: acutally, i’m going to say if you’ve used sea monkey and opera, you probably know more about browser then anybody who is going to answer your question (myself included).

Use your own judgment, but i wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

Do I need to register an online shopping website?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

I am planning to set up an online shopping website . Do I need to register it somewhere to start selling things to the customers ?

You have to register your site with your Internet Hosting company ( The Company that owns the server your website resides on) also if you do not have a web address you will have to register that too unless it is already owned by a web broker ( go daddy.com for example)in which case you will have to cut a deal with the broker. I have a BS in Computer Science and will have my Masters in Computer Science in December. Jerry Gumbert
